It was more humid than the usual. Not that it’s typically cold from where we live, but the weather was excessively hot and I saw my daughter scratching her left armpit. Of course, I immediately stopped her from doing so and checked the area and to my surprise, it was red – with cuts!
She has been suffering from skin asthma, but she hasn’t had an encounter for 2 years, and this is the worst. So I had to do something real quick! Before we got into essential oils, we tried different creams and ointments, but unfortunately none of them worked. At least, none that would soothe the itching and would get rid of the redness immediately.
We were even prescribed an ointment that has steroids on it, but I didn’t really wanted to go down that route. Instead, I would clean the area and moisturize her skin. I have to check every once in a while to make sure that the area is not damp.
This time, I didn’t really want to apply anything on my daughter’s skin that has to do with chemicals. We’re done with that. Good thing that a friend of mine shared with us a nice roller blend recipe for owies. Basically, it contains these three YL oils: Lavender, Frankincense and Purification. Purification oil has citronella, lemongrass, rosemary cineol, melaleuca, lavandin and myrtle.
I topped it with sweet almond oil on a 10ml roller bottle and immediately applied on her armpit. Kept doing this every hour.
I know essential oils are amazing, but I was astounded with the results! Within 4 hours, the redness is almost gone! After 2 more hours, she said it doesn’t itch anymore. Picture below shows how worse it was before the application – and mind you, 24 hours hasn’t even passed.
I knew essential oils were truly amazing, but I was really surprised with the results! Imaginec we’ve tried so many products only to be disappointed with the result. I wish I learned about EOs sooner! Nevertheless, I’m still grateful that my daughter no longer has to bear the pain and the itching feeling.
This is how it looked like 24 hours later:
See? Redness is gone, the huge cut is now dry, and my daughter can barely feel pain or itch. It’s not a hype – there really is an oil for everything!
